Following days of turmoil, Sports Club Villa have officially parted ways head coach Shafik Bisaso on Thursday.

SC Villa President, Engineer Immanuel Ben Misagga confirmed to ChimpSport that head coach, Bisaso together with his assistant Charles Ssekweyama have left the club after a mutual agreement.

“It is true, we have ended our relationship with Bisaso and Ssekyewama as coaches of Sports club Villa,” Misagga said in a phone interview.

According to Misagga, Bisaso didn’t have a contract with SC Villa but rather an understanding with the club and thus there was no contract terminated.

“We didn’t have a contract with him but he worked on a relationship basis,” he revealed.

Misagga also confirmed that associate coach Wasswa Bossa will take on the mantle as acting head coach with the help of Phillip Sozzi as the search for a new coach goes on.

“We have parted ways with head coach Bisaso, we thank him for the good time we have been together, we wish him all the best. Bossa Waswa and Philip Sozzi will act in his position.” Intimated the SC Villa President.

The writing was on the wall that Bisaso was headed for exit following poor results since the start of the second round.

Bisaso had failed to register a win in three league games (all ending in draws, 0-0 vs Bright stars, 1-1 vs JMC Hippos and 2-2 Lweza) including exiting the Uganda cup.

The former Proline and Fire masters coach joined SC Villa on June 29th 2016 first as assistant to then head coach Deo Sserwadda before assuming the head coach position two months later.

Express football club and Vipers SC played to a goalless draw in the Azam Uganda Premier League game played on Friday evening at Muteesa II stadium, Wankulukuku.

Both teams came into the game with an aim of making amends but eventually looked blunt on the day failing to get the spark.

Despite starting the better side in the opening minutes, Express’ failure to create chances in the final third cost them as the visitors grew in confidence moments later but were also blunt going forward.

Brian Kakaire had a chance to break the deadlock in the 21st minute but his effort sailed way above the goal area.

Milton Kalisa also had a chance midway through the opening half but squandered it wide and the two sides returned to the dressing rooms with no shot on target registered.

Vipers opted for the first change of the game, three minutes after recess with Mike Sserumaga paving way for Keziron Kizito.

Moments later, Brian Kakaire was withdrawn for energetic forward Alfred Leku but still the changes failed to yield any dividends.

With 20 minutes to play, Kalisa got the best chance to put Vipers ahead but his attempt to dribble past onrushing goalkeeper Emmanuel Opio ended futile hitting the ball between the goalkeeper’s legs.

Yayo Lutimba got Express’ best chance of the game  from a free kick but sailed a few inches above the cross bar.

The result means Vipers remain fourth on the table with 28 points in 17 games while Express also remain 8th on 24 points same as URA, Soana and Bright stars who are in 5th,6th and 7th position respectively.

Nelson Senkatuka’s strike at the death of first half gave Proline FC a much needed victory over URA FC in a Uganda Premier League match played on Friday afternoon at the Mehta stadium in Lugazi.

With the tie heading to a barren halftime, Gift Ali picked a ball outside Proline box and sprint through to URA’s box while maneuvering through the yellow barricades on the way. The midfielder passed over to Dan Isiagi whose first time pass met Senkatuuka at the right place in the right time.

Coach Kisala was forced to boost his attacking power bank, introducing Kigongo and Feni Ali just after the break for Kyeyune and Kigongo respectively.

The change almost yielded five minutes later. Harry Gentle intercepted Sam Kintu’s pass, crossed over to Lule who in turn set up Feni inside the box but his stinging shot ended on the side net.

Mujib later on withdrew Isiagi for Simon Mbazira to solidify the packed midfield. Proline henceforth forged all ways to kill URA FC’s hopes with several stoppages forcing the referee to run the game up to 103 minutes.

Police continued their impressive run since the start of the second round with yet another win against Soana on Friday.

Abdallah Mubiru the new coach at Police maintained his perfect start winning his third league game in charge with a 2-1 victory against Soana at Kavumba recreational ground.

Skipper Ben Ochen and Rahmat Ssenfuka scored for the cops while Francis Olaki’s strike for Soana settled for a consolation.

Returning to a ground that was their home ground, before shifting to Nakivubo stadium for the first time, Police seemed the better side.

Ben Ochen converted from the spot kick in the 24th minute to give Police the lead after Yasin Mugume had been fouled in the box by Siraje Turyamuhebwa.

Five minutes to the break, Soana leveled matters through Francis Olaki who tapped home Baker Lukooya’s cross for the equaliser.

Police however surged up in the second half and former Proline midfielder Rahmat Ssenfuka helped the cops to regain their lead.

Ssenfuka picked a loose ball outside the box (about 25 yards) before pouncing it with full energy to go straight into the back of the net.

Soana made several attempts to level matters once again but the visitors remained resilient and held onto the score until the final whistle.

Police remain 9th on table on 23 points while Soana who are yet to win any league game under new coach George Lutalo remain 6th on 24 points.

KCCA vs Onduparaka
Phillip Omondi stadium 4pm

After eliminating Angola’s CD Primeiro de Agosto in the CAF champions league last week, KCCA FC shift focus to the league.

They resume league action against Onduparaka this Saturday at the Phillip Omondi stadium in an epic showdown.

KCCA FC assistant manager Morley Byekwaso, already put it straight that they will be seeking for revenge for the first leg loss in Arua where Onduparaka won 2-1.

“We respect Onduparaka, they are a good team and have a big following but we are ready to take them on and revenge for the game we lost to them in Arua,” he said.

Byekwaso believes the team has fully recovered from fatigue of the champions league and now the focus is now on making sure they maintain their stay at the top.

Meanwhile, Benjamin Ochan, the KCCA FC first choice goalkeeper believes the perfect home record at this season will help them overcome Onduparaka.

“It will not be an easy game, they have a good team with talented players but we are motivated by the fact that we haven’t lost a game at home this season,” said Ochan.

On the other hand, Leo Ardra is confident they have a team that can hurt KCCA FC.

“The fact that we managed to beat them in the first leg, we have all it takes to get another win on Saturday,” he said.

About failing to play well at the astro turf, Ardra indicated they have analysed how best they can come up with a perfect solution.

“We lost to Proline on this very ground but I think we have come up with a strategy of how best we can play,” Ardra added.

SC Villa vs Sadolin Paints
Nakivubo stadium 4pm

Sports Club Villa begin life without Shafik Bisaso with a home fixture against wobbling Sadolin Paints this Sunday at Nakivubo stadium.

Bisaso became the latest subject of Misagga’s time- honored tradition of sacking managers when he was shown the exit on Thursday.

And now under the stewardship of unpopular coach Wasswa Bossa, SC Villa will be seeking to return to winning ways against the limping Painters.

The Jogoos have struggled since the start of the year failing to win any competitive game including bowing out of the Uganda cup against lowly Kiboga Young at the round of 64.

Bossa will be seeking to make amends with victory today to calm the waving storm at Villa park where fans are calling for his head.

Equally on the other hand, Sadolin have failed to win a game since the start of the second round losing to Police and Kirinya Jinja SS.

The painters now find themselves in the relegation zone, sitting just a point above the drop zone.

Forward Emmanuel Okwi who limped off in the game against Lweza has recovered in time and is expected to lead the line with Alex Kitata.

Umar Kasumba is still doubtful while Henry Katongole is still serving his suspension for the red card he got in the game against JMC Hippos a fortnight ago.

SC Villa are second on the table with 34 points, four behind leaders KCCA while Sadolin Paints languish in 13th position with a meager 17 points.

Uganda Revenue Authority FC has terminated their contract with head coach Kefa Kisala, ChimpSport has learnt.

A source inside the team had hinted to this website that the coach’s job was on the line earlier last week.

“Yes it’s true the coach has been relieved off his duties as agreed by top management,” URA FC CEO Kulubya told ChimpSport.

“Coach Odoch will take over the role for the remaining matches until we get another head coach.”

Ibrahim Kirya is highly rumored to be in negotiations with the tax collectors.

Kisala guided the team to progress to the last sixteen in the Uganda Cup on Tuesday last week defeating another crisis-hit BUL FC by a slim 1-0 goal advantage.

The tax collectors fell to Proline FC in a home league game in Lugazi on Friday afternoon with a similar margin and after, several top guns in the team gathered at the pitch for a ’round talk’.

Kefa Kisala joined URA FC in November 2015, taking over from Moses Basena. He leaves the team on the seventh position with 24 points after 18 games.
