Uganda Premier League secretariat has passed a disciplinary action against Lweza Football Club after six of the team’s players received caution and a send off in the league match against army outfit Simba FC.
The match that ended in a goalless draw was played at Bombo barracks grounds last Saturday.
“During the AUPL match No. 168 Simba FC vs Lweza FC played on Saturday 2nd April 2016 at Bombo barracks grounds, 6(six),of your players received cards,” part of the brief statement from the secretariat reads, noting that,” The players in question are: Send off- Swaibu Mudde (shirt 13); Cautions- Muhumuza Paddy (shirt 17), Kalyowa Emmanuel (shirt 16), Ndawula Moses (shirt 20), Kakooza Rajab (shirt 6) and Lukwago Charles (shirt 22).”
The club has been punished under article 20(5) of FUFA competition rules that provides, ‘If a club/team accumulates 4 (four) or more cautions and/or sendoffs served within a single match it shall pay a fine of 50 UAs to the TOC. In event that the fine is not paid such players shall be ineligible to play in subsequent matches irrespective of the number of cautions so far earned.’
The ruling therefore implies that Lweza FC must pay that money before hosting their next rivals The Saints FC on Tuesday at the Wankuluku stadium.
The affected match was officiated by Ronald Kirangwa and aided by Docus Atuhaire and Siraje Mpyangu as the first and second assistants. Robert Donney was the fourth official
