Sofapaka produced a sterling last day performance thrashing Thika United 5-1 in a one sided affair to escape relegation from the Kenya Premier League.
The Batoto ba Mungu entered the match in need of an outright victory and at the same time praying for Ushuru FC to lose to Posts Rangers.
Thika United’s Onwudi Chibueze had caused an early scare with a seventh minute opener but his defender Vincent Nyaberi succumbed to the hosts pressure and diverted the ball into own net with a minute to the break.
Ezekiel Okare struck a brace in the 60th and 75th minute to add on Noah Abich’s penalty and a late Moses Odhiambo goal to ensure the depleted visitors breathed no second life.
