Cranes dependable left winger Joseph Ochaya scored a penalty and a header in both halves of the game against Bright Stars to give table leaders KCCA FC a deserved 2-1 win away at the Champions stadium in Matugga.

The lanky player smashed in the first goal from the spot after the ball was handled by a Bright stars player inside the box after half an hour of play.

KCCA’s lead lasted just five minutes before Joshua Kawadwa equalized with a quick brush in the extreme angle leaving Ochan (in KCCA goal) with no option. The goal was his first in the Stars shirt.

The hosts, who were missing the services of their head coach Fred Kajoba (illness), suffered another blow when influential captain Bernard ‘Scholes’ Muwanga was forced out due to an injury just before halftime.

Assistant coach Patrick Kiwanuka introduced Sula Sebunza to for the injured captain but pushed him on the wing bringing Akram Kakembo in the heart of defense.

The second half goal was purely captains affair after KCCA’s skipper Dennis Okot raced down his right wing and curled in for his deputy Ochaya to head in the second.

Their was a little moment of dissatisfaction and madness after the goal with Bright Stars forcing to abandon the game. However centre referee Mashoud Ssali was able to resume play after nearly ten minutes of stoppage.

The win means KCCA FC go to 44 points, eight and nine clear from the the other top four teams while bright Stars sink to tenth. The runaway leaders play Maroons on Saturday while the Kawempe Stars travel to Kavumba to play Police.
