
Uganda rugby premier league defending champions Betway Kampala Old Boys (KOBS) have fired head coach Mirko Dal Molin.
The development comes just two days after the defeat to Shell Rimula Rhinos in the league.
Kobs lost their first game this season (24-31) to Rhinos and club management have decided to part ways with head coach Molin.
In a statement released by the club management, it is indicated, the Italian tactician stepped down after mutual conscent.
“Kobs would like to inform all stakeholders that effective today 28th November 2016,the club through mutual consent has decided to part ways with head coach Mr. Mirko Dal Molin,” reads part of the statement.
According to club chairman, Adrian Bukenya, the team is grateful for the time Molin has been with them.
“The club is grateful for the time Molin served Kobs winning two league titles as assistant coach in 2013/14 and as head coach during 2015/16 season.” Said Bukenya.
“He has behaved with great professionalism and dignity throughout the time he has been with us and we wish him well in his next endeavors,” the statement further reads.
Club legend, Edmund Tumusiime now takes on the mantle as head coach until the end of the 2016/17 season.
“As the club completes the search for a full time replacement, Mr. Edmund Tumusiime has been appointed interim head coach until the end of the 2016/17 league campaign,” the statement indicated.
