URA 2-2 SC Villa
Sports club Villa failed to close gap on league leaders KCCA following a two all draw against Uganda Revenue Authority in a game played at Mehta stadium on Tuesday.
A win against URA would draw SC Villa within just a point behind KCCA who play against Sadolin Paints on Wednesday but Jimmy Kulaba scored late to deny the Jogoos the chance.
Both managers made just one change from the teams that played in the previous games.
Kefa Kisala had Peter Lwasa start for Elkunah Nkuggwa from the side that draw goalless against Bright stars while Ayub Kasaalita was the only change for Shafik Bisaso’s charges from the team that defeated Vipers replacing injured Alex Kitata.
The tax collectors took an early lead through defender Sam Sekitto in the 11th minute however the lead was short lived as Ambrose Kiirya levelled matters four minutes later.
Possession kept oscillating from one side to another but the two teams headed for the mandatory break levelled.
Bisaso made a double substitution after recess introducing Martin Kiiza and AbduMalik Vitalis Tabu for Ayub Kisalita and Paul Mbowa respectively.
The changes produced dividends with exciting winger Martin Kiiza scoring in the 66th minute for SC Villa to take the lead.
However, skipper Jimmy Kulaba levelled matters for URA with nine minutes to play jumping high to head home Peter Lwasa’s cross from a corner kick.
SC Villa remain second on the table with 28 points, three behind KCCA who play Sadolin Paints on Wednesday while URA registered the 10th draw this season and occupy 6th spot on 19 points.
