Geoffrey Sserunkuma and Norman Ogik continued their impressive scoring for their clubs as Sadolin Paints and KCCA FC settled for a 1-1 draw on Wednesday in Bugembe.
Sserunkuma smashed his ninth goal of the season with a bang just ten minutes into play. Ronald Musana had picked a Lukungu’s failed clearance on his right wing and advanced a cross which Nsimbambi set for Sserunkuma to fire in Oringa’s right.
Both teams were cautious in the opening minutes with limited attack and a lot of midfield activity. The defending champions were without their creative attacker Muzamir Mutyaba due to malaria.
Sadolin were forced to make an early change close to the half hour after Bruhan Matovu stretched his thigh muscle and failed to recover. Sijali Jamal was introduced.
The substitute was a revelation to the hosts with clinical runs in the left wing that nearly bore results but Ochan made two spectacular saves towards the end of the half.
Sijali had raced in the right wing and slotted a 40th minute cross for Ogik who made a half turn and riffled a low one but Ochan blocked, kyambadde raced to power in the rebound and again Ochan recovered from the ground to put out for a corner.
The painters returned with the same tempo which resulted into the equaliser three minutes later.
Ogik picked a pass and flicked inwards to dispose his markers and fired below Ochan.
The draw means KCCA FC move to 32 points and therefore will enter the mid-season break on top of the table while Sadolin remain tenth though joint on 17 points with Bright stars and Lweza. They face Onduparaka on Saturday.
