Uganda Cranes have slumped five places in the latest fifa/Cocacola rankings released by world football body on Thursday 7th April.
In the new standings, Uganda is ranked 72 down from 67 in March. Cranes continuous fall is due to the poor performance the team exhibited in the 2017 Afcon qualifiers double encounter against Burkina Faso on 26th and 29th respectively where the team picked only a point out of the six on cards.
However on the local rivalry note, Uganda is still ahead in the CECAFA region even though all the other countries registered a free fall.
In the continent, Ghana (38) piped Senegal (43) to third position while Algeria led the pack with AFCON holders Ivory Coast(34) in second and Egypt(44) completing the top five.
2014 World Cup runners-up Argentina are the new team at the top of the world displacing Belgium to the second. Chile, Colombia and Germany close the best five positioned countries.
The two most outstanding performers for April hail from the African continent. Guinea-Bissau (up 45) have climbed the most positions by rank, while Morocco (131 points) enjoy the biggest move by virtue of points.
