
Ndejje University have emerged overall Wood ball champions in the Eastern Africa University games going on at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology in Kenya.
Ndejje accumulated ten medals including six gold, three silver and one bronze in the competitions dominated by Ugandan Varsities.
Kyambogo University scooped one gold and silver to finish in the second place ahead of Busitema who finished third with four medals; one silver and three bronze.
UCU, MUBS and Bishop Stuart University completed the Ugandan sextet.
Individual performances
Kyambogo University’s Thomas Gold Kedi struck 221 points to emerge the champion in Men’s singles.
Julius Ssempija (Ndejje) and Benson Mutumba from Bishop Stuart university completed the podium places.
The Ladies category was reduced to a contest for the Ndejje university ladies whose six players featured in the top nine positions.
Joyce Nalubega (222), Comfort Muganyizi (226) and Florence Mukova (233) grabbed the podium places in that order.
Joan Mukova finished fourth but was fortunate to pick team gold for complementing the pack to win the overall title.
Ndejje quartet accumulated 472 strokes, 59 more than MUBS and Kyambogo University.
