KCCA FC coach Mike Mutebi is excited with the recent draws that tied the Ugandan champions against their equivalents from Angola- Club Desportivo Primeiro de Augusto.

“It’s an interesting draw,” Mutebi said.

“Teams in Angola use the Brazilian approach because they have so many (Brazilians) involved in that league by design.”

The manager however admitted he is not well acquainted with the club’s style of play.

“I don’t know a lot about the team but got general picture of how Angolan teams play their football.”

“We have respect because they’re champions that way and we are this way but I think we have enough in our armory to negotiate the fixture.”

Mamelodi Sundowns.

Mutebi outlines the club’s main target to get into the group stages but that means defeating the Angolan champions and then navigates past continental kings, Mamelodi Sundowns.

Our main target is to get through the group stages so we don’t have to get scared but face the challenge ahead of us.

“When we go through they have lined Mamelodi Sundowns and that gives us motivation because we shall be playing the defending champions,” he says adding that “It’s also very possible to face and eliminate them (Sundowns). They’re not really that threatening if we do our things right.

“They qualified last time after the opponents were disqualified for using an ineligible. But they had belief and worked hard to get what they achieved.”

The first leg will be staged in Kampala in the weekend of  February 10-12 and the reverse tie a fortnight later in Luanda.
