Brotherhood Futsal Club was crowned champion of the 2016 Revamped Futsal Boxing Day challenge after taming Viga, 5-3 in the finals held at the Champions Arena, Busega.
Muzafaru Ssepuya struck a hat trick to complement on Badru Kabanda and Herbert Katongole’s lone strikes to overcome the hard lined Viga. Geoffrey Ssemakula’s brace and Willy Ndawula’s goal were only reduced to consolations.
The club ensured a perfect start in the group stages defeating Viga (2-0), Oldies (4-0) and FAU (1-4). They went on to defeat 4-3 in the semifinals before taking on Viga for the ultimate price.
The champions dominated the individual awards with Godfrey Ssekyewa scooping the most valuable player award while Arnold Male was voted the best goalie of the tournament.
Bagimu Futsal Club’s Abdul Ssemakula emerged the top scorer of the tournament.
