Weather head and Wanainchi hockey clubs have Thursday evening been flagged off to Kenya ahead of the African Cup of Club Championship (ACCC) at the national hockey stadium in Lugogo.

The four teams (both men and women for each club) departed for Kenya’s capital, Nairobi ahead of the championship that serves off this Saturday.

The 2016 African cup of club championship initially supposed to be staged in November last year was shifted to this year after hosts Zimbabwe cited financial constraints.

“I’m aware that playing at such a level is not easy but we are prepared and ready to take on the challenge,” she said.

“This is our first time to play at the championship but we believe we can put up the challenge against the supposedly bigger sides,” added Anyango.

Ugandan clubs have failed to go past the group stage phase at the championship.
