If there is that one team that has surprised fans with their performance his season, it has to be JMC Hippos FC. The Jinja side navigated through the playoffs to qualify for the top flight this season but has done better than Maroons and The Saints.
The team coached by James Odoch stand on the third place in the league standings only behind Vipers and KCCA Fc.
According to coach Odoch, “The team’s plans at the beginning of the season were to avoid relegation and at least finish above top ten. But after a series of good shows, the target changed to top four.”
JMC Hippos will embark on a 45-minute drive to Lugazi to play URA FC at the Mekhta stadium.
Their captain Richard Wandyaka says,”the team is well prepared for the game, and the players already know the task ahead.” adding that, “We are out for revenge because they beat us in the first round at our strong hold. We want to continue with our good run of form.”
The two have met three times where the tax collectors have two wins; one in the Uganda cup two years ago and the league first leg played at Kakindu. The match ended 2-1.
URA FC have full squad available though veteran goalkeeper Brian Bwete is likely to continue missing in the match day squad.
The visitors will be without influential striker Abdulrahim Ajab and center back Constantine Nalumonso as well as long time absentee Patrick Onyango. Musa Bankene is also out after receiving a straight red in the 1-0 win over Lweza for unsporting conduct.
The Jinja side has been the most defensive side and will be facing another one labelled the best attacking team hosting the leading scorer Robert Ssentongo.
