Group D: Uganda vs Ghana
Stade Port Gentil
7pm
Ghana’s head coach Avram Grant has named the team that will start against Uganda as the two sides lock horns on Tuesday at Stade Port Gentil in Gabon.
The Black stars begin their campaign with a group D fixture against boggy side Uganda.
Grant has opted for an all attacking starting lineup with three forwards in Asamoah Gyan and the Ayew brothers, Jordan and Andre Dede.
Goalkeeper Braimah Razak starts ahead of experienced Fatau Dauda who was a late inclusion into the squad.
Diminute defender Harrison Afful starts at the right back position while Abdu Baba Rahman completes the fullback positions occupying the left side.
Leicester City’s Daniel Armattey starts ahead of Jonathan Mensah in defence and he will partner John Boye to try tame Cranes captain Geoffrey Massa and Miya Farouk.
Mubarak Wakaso is joined by fast winger Christian Atsu in the midfield while Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey also gets a slot in the starting lineup in a 4-3-3 system.
Asamoah Gyan will lead the line of attack while Jordan Ayew and Andre Dede Ayew will play behind him as the supporting cast.
