Cranes Coach Micho has quashed predictions that he could go on to make numerous changes in his team to face Mali on Wednesday.

Mathematically, Uganda cannot progress to the knockout stage after losing the first two games.

“We reached here with an intention to play three cup finals,” Micho said.

“I am happy with the fact that we went very close in the first two finals; however football took away from us.”

“I need to assure our supporters that we shall field our strongest team. It is our strong desire to end the tournament with our heads high.”

19 of the 23 players in camp have been fielded during the two matches and only four -Salim Jamal, Shafiq Batambuze, Yunus Ssentamu and Robert Odongkara- have not got playtime.

“We shall give other players chance in friendly matches during the two Fifa international dates in March and that time we shall experiment. This is a high level of competition and there are no experiments.”

Uganda will be tussling for the third place at least to increase on the money kitty.

“We want to work hard in the third match so that football repays us with a performance on Wednesday in respect to our spiritual owners- the supporters.”

The match will take place on Wednesday night at the Stade d’Oyem in Oyem city from 10 PM local time.
