Second half substitute Vincent Aboubakar volleyed in a spectacular strike in the 88th minute as Cameroon came from behind to beat Egypt 2-1 in the 2017 Africa cup of nations finals.
Mohammed ElNeny had fired the Pharaohs ahead as early the 22nd minute after Salah exchanging well with Amir Warda in the right who set him up with a defense splitting pass.
Elneny controlled and blasted to the top near post leaving Ondoa helpless.
Nicolas N’Koulou pulled matters level at the hour mark after rising high to head captain Moukandjo’s cross. N’Koulou started from the bench and was introduced after half an hour for Adolphe Teikeu who was injured.
Moukandjo wasted a glorious chance to put the Indomitable lions in the lead a minute later but his delivery off Bassogog’s effort failed to stay on target.
Nevertheless, Aboubakar, who had replaced Ndip Tambe after the break grabbed the winner at the death of the game.
Aboubakar raced to chest down Sebastien Siani’s long ball, lifted over Ali Gabr and completed with a fine volley to the left of El Hadary. Egypt failed to recover and Cameroon grabbed their fifth title.
Bassoggog was named the man of the tournament at the end.
