Police 2-0 Sadolin Paints
Police football club began the second round of the 2016/17 Uganda premier league on an impressive note with a victory against Sadolin Paints.
In what was Abdallah Mubiru’s first league game as head coach at Police FC, the cops put a resuscitated performance to oust Sadolin Paints 2-0 at Nakivubo stadium on Tuesday.
Veteran forward Hood Kaweesa opened the scores before new recruit William Wadri added the goal to help Police record their fourth win this season.
Hood Kaweesa gave the cops an early lead in the 10th minute picking a rebound after Sadolin’s goalkeeper Baker Yunus parried the ball into the striker’s path.
Despite several attempts from the visitors through Norman Ojik, Fred Kyambadde and Allan Oryek, Police managed to contain the pressure.
Debutant William Wadri who is on loan from Vipers doubled the lead from the spot kick towards the end of the first half after defender Moses Kibirige handled the ball in the forbidden area.
Police now move one position up to 12th with 17 points same as Sadolin Paints who occupy 11th position but with a better goal difference.
