Vipers head coach Richard Wasswa has indicated their prime target is to fully optimize home advantage ahead of their clash against Volcan club de Moroni in the Caf Confederation Cup.
Vipers host Comoros’ Volcan club de Moroni this Saturday at Mandela National stadium in the first leg of the CAF confederation cup preliminary round and Wasswa is optimistic they will get a good result.
“We are ready for the game. The team has had enough preparation ahead of tomorrow’s game,” he said.
“Our target is to get a good result in the first leg and have an advantage when we go to Comoros,” Wasswa stated.
Coach Wasswa also indicated that they want to avoid last year’s predicament where Vipers won 1-0 against Enyimba in Kampala but lost 2-0 in the return leg.
“We have to score as many goals as possible here in Kampala to stand a chance of advancing to the next round,” he added.
The soft spoken tactician is confident the new addictions have bonded well with the rest of the team and have already had a positive impact on the team.
“The new players have added a thing or two to the team and have easily jelled into the team. I believe they will help us a lot in the continental engagements,” Wasswa indicated.
The new signings include Milton Kalisa, Moses Waiswa, Mike Sserumaga (injured), Asiku Bashir and Francis Onekalit (promoted from the junior team).
The winner between Vipers and Moroni on aggregate will play against either Platinum Stars or Ssiogo
