Striker Emmanuel Arnold Okwi has been in scintillating form since his return to Villa park in January scoring 3 goals in four games.
Okwi’s effort from a free kick on Sunday was enough as SC Villa earned a hard fought win against Sadolin Paints to have a sigh of relief.
The lethal striker is confident he can score as many goals as possible but gave himself a personal target of 12 goals in the second round of the league.
“I usually don’t want to give myself targets but I hope I can make 12 goals by the end of the season,” Okwi told ChimpSport.
“I’m not fully fit at the moment, I think I’m at just 70℅ but I hope I will regain full fitness very soon,” he said.
Okwi indicated that his scoring form has hugely depended on his teammates who have been cooperative which has helped him to settle in easily.
“It is a good start for me though we have not got the desired results. It’s up to the boys who have given me the necessary support to make sure I score goals,” Okwi noted.
Additionally, Okwi believes the victory against Sadolin Paints comes in timely and a huge boost to the team.
“It was a massive win and a confidence booster to the team and I believe it will help us raise our confidence levels,” he said.
“We had a tough week for everyone at Villa but what is important is that as players, we kept focus on the field of play and we finally returned to winning ways,” he added.
SC Villa remained second on the table with 37 points, one behind leaders KCCA FC but the latter have two games in hand.
