Kitara based club Boma Young has written to Fufa confirming their withdrawal the 2016-17 Fufa Big League season.
Boma Young has been struggling to raise funds to facilitate the players and honor fixtures.
Before their withdrawal, the team had been docked points for failing to travel for a game against Hope Doves and Synergy FC in Kampala and Masaka respectively.
“We received a letter from the Chairman and CEO of Boma Young notifying of their withdrawal from the competition,” Fufa competitions director Ali Mwebe revealed.
According to article 24(11) of the FUFA Competitions Rules, all second round results involving Boma Young are nullified.
“If at the time of withdrawal the club has played 50% and above of the league, the results of the first round shall be sustained while all the results of matches in the Second round shall be nullified.”
