Makerere University 3-3 Busitema University
Makerere University needed to comeback twice to salvage at least a point against hard fighting Busitema University in the University football league.
Playing at the University main ground for the first time after a long time, Makerere University could only earn a point against Busitema in a game that ended in a 3-3 all draw on Sunday.
Busitema who have continued to improve every other season under female coach Dorothy Namugenyi took an early lead just after eight minutes through Tonny Musambi.
The visitors went ahead to double the lead at the half hour mark with Musambi once again the assassin punishing Makerere’s goalkeeper Daudi Mtani for poor goalkeeping and Busitema took a 2-0 halftime lead.
Drama ensued after recess with the home side returning rejuvenated and Joshua Lubwama who was the top scorer in the 2015 season converting a penalty to cut the deficit in the 53rd minute.
Ten minutes later, Brian Amwiine levelled matters for the home side to send the Makerere fans into wild celebrations.
Tonny Musambi once again popped up to score for Busitema and complete his hat trick on the day with ten minutes to time and the visitors seemed destined for victory.
However, Makerere piled up pressure in the final minutes and the efforts paid off with Samuel Odong scoring into his own net for the equaliser in the 88th minute.
