Uganda Cup: Express Drawn Against URA FC

Record Champion’s Express football club have been pitted against Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) football club in the quarterfinals of the 2016/17 Uganda cup.

The 10 time Uganda cup winners were pitted against URA FC in the draws held at Fufa headquarters in Mengo,Kampala on Wednesday.

Express who last won the annual knockout tournament in 2007 will make the trip to Mehta Stadium in Lugazi to take on the tax collectors.

The Red Eagles have been in scintillating form winning their previous four games including eliminating Fufa Big league side Masavu FC at the round of 16 thanks to Saddam Juma’s brace.

They had eliminated Kirinya Jinja SS and Doves All stars in the round of 64 and 32 respectively.

URA on the other hand have been sublime in the Uganda cup including eliminating JMC Hippos 5-1 at the round of 16.

In the other draws held, Sadolin Paints will play at home to last year’s runners up Onduparaka at Mandela National stadium.

The painters edged past Baza Holdings 1-0 at the round of 16 while the Caterpillars needed two late goals from Caesar Okhuti and Rashid Agau to go past Water FC.

Holders Vipers SC who outwitted Kiboga Young 7-0 will have another opportunity to be at home hosting the only Fufa Big league side left in the tournament, Paidha Black Angels.

Police football club will have to wait for the winner between Kataka FC and KCCA FC who are yet to play their round of 16 encounter.

The cops needed spot kicks to eliminate hard fighting Kyetume FC in Nakisunga, Mukono and will be at home against the winner between Fufa Big league side Kataka FC and KCCA FC.

This year’s final is slated for 27th May and will be player in West Nile Region(Arua District) at a venue yet to be named.

The winner of Uganda cup represents the nation at the Total CAF confederation cup.
