
Last season’s runner ups, Stomers had to fight over to the last day beating Kabalagala rangers in order to make their way into the playoffs of the 2015-16 Pepsi national beach soccer league.
Lawrence Bichilanze and Churchill Kama scored the only two goals in the game leaving the rangers in the seventh place with only ten points.
KIU also narrowly made through thanks to a better goal difference over fellow scholars Mutesa I Royal University. Julius Rulinda scored a hattrick to draw three all against YMCA but the latter won 2-0 in penalties.
In the Hurriken group, Allan Kayiwa continued his goal scoring prowess with a double as his side talented overcame Buwanika Bulls 4-3.
Kayiwa emerges the most lethal striker in the league during the regular season with 33 to his name, a dozen more than Nkumba select’s Douglas Muganga. Isma Kawawulo with 20 is the best scorer for defending champions MUBS.
Playoffs:
St. Lawrence university, MUBS, Nkumba select and Talented have qualified to the playoffs in Hurriken group while in Monsoon Real Galacticos, Dalumba international, Stormers and KIU made the cut.
The quarter finals will be played on 8th May 2016.
