
With just a few hours to the kickoff between Cape Verde and Uganda, reliable reports indicate the Uganda Cranes are still stranded in Senegal’s Capital, Dakar.
Team doctor Ronald Kisoro in a Whatsapp messege bemoaned the delay in connecting from Dakar to Praia where the game is supposed to be played.
“You cannot believe it we are still stuck at Dakar airport. It’s 11am here. These guys use these tricks for visiting teams. We might get to Cape verde at 3pm. Game is 4pm” he stated.
Just seven players have reached Cape Verde having connected to the Island on Friday evening.
These include Isaac Muleme, Bernard Muwanga, Emma Okwi, Derrick Nsibambi, Geoffrey Sserunkuma.
However, the rest of the contingent is still stuck in Senegal with reports of intended delay in connection flights from Senegal to Cape Verde.
Uganda takes on Cape Verde in the opening game of the 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifier at estadio Varzei.
Uganda is in group L alongside Tanzania, Cape Verde and Lesotho
