After overcoming Bul FC on Saturday in Jinja, SC Villa coach Kirya warned the top pack of a possible ‘coup’ in the final race to the title.
Villa who started slow in the game ended with two brilliant goals caused by cheap defending by their former right back Derrick Walulya and Hashim Sempala.
“We had a poor game in the opening half hour but we had to adjust by bringing in Ambrose Kirya who fine-tuned the attack. Villa is in the title race and we sure will win the trophy because we have better mathematical chance,” coach Kirya said.
Dennis Kamanzi scored the first from Ambrose Kirya’s assist while the second was an own goal, Mukisa Junior scoring in his own net after Oringa had tried to stop Umar Kasumba’s goal bound shot.
The Jogoos will be back at home on Tuesday against The Saints FC, a side that is facing a relegation threat with only four games left on their menu.
The Saints conquered fellow new comers JMC Hippos 2-1 in Namboole, Ivan Kiweewa and Alex Kitata both on target. The coffee spirit sponsored side need five points from their remaining games just in case Simba win all their three remaining games.
The first round of this fixture failed to produce a goal at Namboole in December.
Villa stand 10th with 36 points after 21 games and could finish with 64 if they maintain perfection to the last day. Table leaders KCCA FC and Vipers can only end at 61 if they’re to win all their remaining games.
