Kabale: Uganda Cranes to Play Western Uganda Team

Spirits are high among the football fans in Kabale a head of the historic visit and match between the Uganda Cranes and Western Uganda select team on Saturday at Kabale Municipal Stadium.

Ahamed Hussein the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) public relations officer says Uganda Cranes are arriving in Kabale today Friday at 2pm.

He says the build-up match is part of the Cranes Preparations for the forthcoming national engagements like CECAFA and World Cup Qualifiers with Egypt.

Hussein says the Cranes regional tours have helped in identifying national players, citing that Farouk Miya who was found when the Cranes were playing western select.

Swirtzen Niwagaba the national delegate for FUFA representing western Uganda as well a chief organizer, says that the western select team is ready for the national team, having been in a residential camp since 4th July 2017.

He says 27 players were summoned and that coach Vialli Beinomugisha has already selected the final team of 20 players that will face the national team.

Prime Minister Dr David Livingstone Ruhakana Rugunda is expected as guest of honor at the match.
