Midfielder Gift “Gigi” Ali switched allegiance last week leaving Proline Football club to join Police FC.
The transfer was confirmed on Friday last week with the player putting pen to paper on a two year agreement and was unveiled as a Police FC player by the club chairperson, AIGP Asan Kasingye.
The crafty midfielder has come out to thank Proline FC for the seven years he has been at the club since joining them in 2010.
“Today, I say goodbye to a magnificent club Proline Football Club. I want to thank the club for helping me become a better footballer in every sense of the word and for making me feel at home during my 7 year stay here,” he stated.
“Proline FC will always remain in my heart because they gave me the amazing opportunity to play for them this long,” Gift added.
Gigi as commonly referred to believes it is the right time to go elsewhere and seek for a new challenge.
“Proline is my home but I believe the time is right to open a new account. I can only say thank you to the club, Director Mujib Kasule and the entire management and coaching staff,” he noted.
“To the lovely fans that have supported me since I joined, you have been lovely, my teammates who offered support and company, I can’t thank you enough. I can only wish you more success and prosperity,” Ali further stated.
Gift Ali was touted to be one of the best midfielders back in the day but recurring injuries hindered his progress not until the last seasons where he has played quite regularly.
At Police FC he re-unites with his former coach at Proline FC, Abdallah Mubiru.
