Following the success of its debut season last year, the St Mary’s College Kisubi Famous Old Boys league returns this weekend with plenty of action at the Bat Valley playground.
Last year, 12 teams took part, with over 500 former students participating. And this year’s will be its second edition.
The 9-aside league sees former Students of the Kisubi based school who have completed campus battle for glory.
One of the major aims of this tournament is to make sure that the school’s former students are well networked and remain mutually supportive.
“Our major aim is to have a robust social support group of our members, avail a mutual business platform, to bolster and increase the outreach of SMACKOBA through providing a platform that allows for regular meeting and engagement,” Said Moses Tumusiime, the chairman of the league at a press briefing recently.
The format of the tournament follows the participating teams playing every fortnight for over 8 months with the leader at the end declared the overall winner.
With 4 new entrants, this year’s tournament promises to better last year’s. The self-proclaimed ‘DEVILS’ who won last year’s tournament remain this year’s team to beat.
