Pemba Warriors vs Nkumba Marines, 6pm

Betway Power vs Ndejje Univ Angels, 8pm

After no league games were played on Wednesday evening as per the fixture schedule, the National Basketball league returns Friday with two ties to be played at the MTN Indoor Arena, Lugogo.

Pemba Warriors and Betway Power, who are joint table leaders with 23 points, will face off with Nkumba Marines and Ndejje University Angels respectively.

After a lower league play-off fixture between Miracle Eagles and Ssaku B.C at 3pm, Warriors will have a big chance of stretching their lead with 2 points if they can record a victory against struggling Mariners.

Warriors’ Coach, Ronnie Mutebi will be without Stanley Mutebi and Syrus Kiviiri as the pair is with the National Basketball team (Silverbacks) which is in Egypt for their AFROBASKET preparations.

But with a powerful roster of Michael Buzangu , Saidi Amisi Dany, Mark Opiyo, Ronnie Kasewu, Caesar Kizito among others; Warriors still have enough fire power to gun down the Mariners.

The last time these two sides faced off in the first round phase, Mark Opiyo struck a game high 22 points as Warriors got a 92-40 victory past Nkumba Marines.

The biggest game of the day will see Ndejje University Angels take on Betway Power at 8pm. The University side who stand 6th with 19 points has won 7 games, lost 5 in their 12 games.

Arnold Lando’s Power has only lost to two teams; Warriors and UPDF Tomahawks, with the former beating them twice.

Power who will continue to be without their captain Joseph Ikong, will look to the inspiration of Michael Makiadi who scored 18 points as Power won 77-58 against Nkumba on Sunday at UCU court in Mukono.

Makiadi leads the Points scored and Rebounds charts with 236 and 162 respectively. He has made 34 assists this season so far.
