Bright Stars 1-0 Maroons
KCCA FC 1- 2 Proline FC
Proline FC picked a 2-1 victory against their ‘Stadium rivals’ KCCA FC to win the Phillip Omondi Memorial Tournament at the StarTimes Stadium.
David Owor got Proline FC into the lead from a penalty after Habib Kavum brought down Fahad Bayo inside the area as Mujib Kasule’s side took a 1-0 lead into halftime.
Abubaker Sadiq levelled matters for the Kasasiro team from a tap-in back in the second half.
Proline FC’s Nigerian import Bismack Maduake produced the moment of brilliance when he laid a beautiful assist that released Isiagi to chip past Charles Lukwago and put Proline back into the lead.
Proline FC finished the two day tournament with 7 points, hence defended the title they won last year.
Format of the Tournament
The tournament that bears its name from the legendary former KCCA FC player Phillip Omondi is hosted by KCCA FC and other 3 clubs are invited to make it 4 teams.
Three points are awarded for a win, one point for a draw and each goal scored earns a team a point.
This is the second edition of the tournament, which is hosted annually before the league season starts.
