Men: UPDF Tomahawks 62-46 Sharing Youth
Before the victory on Wednesday, UPDF Tomahawks’ last win came on July 23 when they shock Betway Power with a 75-85 win.
Since then, the team was on a 3 game losing streak; with the last one being a 46-94 defeat in the hands of KIU Titans.
In the first round, Sharing Youth’s Tong Gatwech scored a game high 19 points as the Tomahawks suffered a 63-57 defeat, but yesterday, the song changed.
UPDF Tomahawks put up a good performance with a 62-46 victory against Sharing Youth to take a sweet revenge in the National Basketball League game played at YMCA Court in Wandegeya.
Baker Kyambadde’s charges led 27-22 at the long break and they never looked back, scoring 19 and 16 points the subsequent quarters to seal their long awaited victory.
UPDF’s Andrew Okot scored 16 points to add on Felix Mukunzi 15, Henry Okoth and Stephen Wokorach who both scored 13 points.
This is the 4th win out of 14 games for the Army side who have collected 18 points in total.
The Nsambya based side on the other hand has lost 11 league games with 5 victories
What next for both Sides
The Tomahawks will return to action on Saturday, September 16th with a league game against Betway Power at YMCA outdoor court.
Raymond Muhumuza’s Sharing will take on Ndejje University Angels the following day at the MTN Indoor Arena in Lugogo.
