Express FC vs Maroons FC
Dubbed ‘Mukwano Gwa Bangi’ Express FC will today host new league entrants Maroons FC at their Mutesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku today at 4:30 pm.
After drawing with Kirinya Jinja SS in their opening day fixture, the Wankulukuku based Club followed the draw with back to back away defeats against Mbarara City and UPDF FC.
With the arrival of Maroons FC today, Express FC will hope to put their poor form aside in search for their first maximum points of this new 2017-2018 Azam Uganda Premier League Season.
With a new Coach at the Club in Douglas Bamweyana, Express FC fell to Moses Basena’s UPDF FC with Ezekiel Katende’s solo goal.
Visitors Maroons drew goalless with Ibrahim Kirya’s URA FC recently in Luzira Prison grounds.
With the presence of their home passionate fans, this looks to be an easier fixture on paper for Express FC to kickstart their chase for silverware.
Poor Express FC host lowly Maroons FC
It is to be noted that Express FC has gone 4 games in total without winning at Wankulukuku in the league; two defeats against KCCA FC and Proline with 2 drraws against Soana and Kirinya Jinja.
The Red Eagles have only registered one win from their past 9 league games in total, with their last victory coming against Sadolin FC in Namboole in May this year.
Both sides (Express FC and Maroons) are yet to score a league goal in their 3 league games this season.
Maroons FC last away win in the league came against BUL FC on Tuesday April 3rd in 2012 when they won 1-0. Other Maroons’ only other previous away victories in the league came against Water, Utoda, Victors and Masaka LC.
