The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (Fufa) on Thursday released the groupings of the fourth coming Women elite league season (2017/18).
The top tier women league running for the fourth campaign will see 16 teams take part like in the past and divided into two groups of eight.
The groups were released after a meeting between the club officials and the Fufa President, Eng. Moses Magogo where several issues were addressed in regards to women’s football.
Defending champions Kawempe Muslim was placed in the Victoria group and will be seeking to win the championship for the fourth year running.
They will play alongside 2015/16 finalists She Corporate who had am awful campaign last season.
The other teams in the Victoria group include; Ajax Queens,Gafford Ladies, Muteesa I Royal University, London Stallions,Rinnes and Western United from Mbarara district.
On the other hand Elizabeth group will have last season’s runners up UCU Lady Cardinals, Olila High School, Eastern Heroes and Kampala Queens a team that is owned by Fufa President, Moses Magogo.
Newly promoted side Isra Women’s team will test the waters against the very best side playing in the league for their first season.
The team won promotion from the Kampala regional league.
Wakiso Hills who withdrew from last season’s campaign after getting involved in an accident return to action and will be in Elizabeth group.
Uganda Martyrs High School Rubaga and She Makerere are the other teams in this group.
The league gets underway on 14th October with the fixtures set to be released soon.
Elizabeth Group: Uganda Martyrs, Wakiso Hills, She Mak, Isra Academy WFC, Kampala Queens, Eastern Heroes, Olila Women, UCU Lady Cardinals.
Victoria Group: Ajax queens, She Corporate, Gafford Ladies, Kawempe Muslim SS WFC, Muteesa I Royal University, Rinnes WFC, Western United and London Stallions.
