The 2017/18 Fufa Big League campaign officially kicked off on Thursday with a couple of games played across the country.

Whereas there were routine victories for some teams, the opening day produced several shocking results.

Key among them was Synergy FC suffering a humiliating 3-1 defeat at the hands of newly promoted Bumate FC in Bundibugyo.

Synergy who played the playoffs last season had a disappointing outing with team coach Brian Ssenyondo blaming the result on poor display from his boys.

Kambugu Tarzan scored the solitary goal of the game to help Kyetume earn all three points in their maiden Fufa Big League game.

Sharp FC another newly promoted team from Kabaale defied odds to stun Sun City FC 1-0 in their own backyard in Kasese.Dickens Ainebyona struck the only goal of the game.

In Zombo District, Paidha Black Angels registered a convincing 3-1 victory against Busia Fisheries with Jackson Nsubuga bagging the first hat trick of the season.

Ndejje University eased past new comers Agape SS 4-1 while former Express FC and national team midfielder Derrick Tekkwo scored as Kitara FC edged Kireka FC 1-0.
