Paul Olanya was Thursday recognized as the outstanding player during the Business Summit Africa golf competitions that took place at Entebbe Golf Club play grounds.
The competitions that started at around 11pm involved eight companies; Business Summit Africa, Prime House Consulting Group and Eng-pro International among others.
They were competing in a field play of 18 holes by both female and male characters.
“I have been playing in defeat previously, but today I came prepared to show them what I can offer. I feel grateful to out-stand my colleagues,” Olanya said after receiving the award.
Olanya, who plays for Engo-pro International was the best player of the day beating Timothy Okwi and Emma Ogwang, who were the first and second runners-up respectively.
The tournament was organised by Secretariat of Business Summit Africa in conjunction with Entebbe Golf Club aims at bringing together business leaders to share ideas for economic development.
Speaking at the event, Ben Ayul, CEO Business Summit Africa, said: “This is our first golf tournament and it was really exciting. This is a pre-arrangement to the Business Summit Africa as we agreed upon it last year. This is to ensure business leaders meet and discuss on new ideas on resolving and developing business sector in Africa before they get to present them on the annual meeting.”
One of the organizers and player Dr. James Eyul of Joy Clinics, also noted: “Golf is a corporate game that brings together businessmen to meet and interact on some ideas besides helping us health wise.”
The sixth Business Summit Africa themed, “Strategizing and Positioning for Business Growth in Africa” is expected to attract over 400 Business Leaders and entrepreneurs, who will be sharing ideas, networking, partnering and discussing various business opportunities in Africa.
The conference is scheduled for Saturday, October 11 at the Kampala Serena Hotel.
