Following their disappointing exit from Stanbic Uganda Cup, Vipers SC have responded by sacking head coach Edward Golola plus his technical staff.
The Venoms were defeated 8-7 on penalties by minnows Kajjansi United after a one-all stalemate in the game played at Betway Muteesa II Stadium Wankulukuku on Thursday evening.
“Vipers Sports Club announces that head coach Edward Golola and his entire technical team have been relieved of their duties with immediate effect,” the statement from the club reads.
“The club would like to thank Golola and his team for their work during their time at Vipers SC and to wish them success in the future.”
“A caretaker technical team will be appointed until the end of the current season, while the club conducts a thorough recruitment process for a new, full-time coach,” it further continues.
Golola was appointed as Vipers SC head coach at the beginning of this season with an ultimate mission of guiding them to the league title.
He left them on the top of league table with 42 points four points ahead of second placed KCCA FC who are on 38 points.
