Viane Ssekajugo’s brace was enough for Wakiso Giants to overcome Bugoigo Leopards 2-0 in Buliisa to progress to the next stage of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
The former Onduparaka FC forward scored in each half of the game to ensure that Wakiso Giants joined the party in the round of 32.
The first goal for the Purple Sharks came in the fifth minute of the game before he completed his brace in the 68th minute.
Coach Charles Livingstone Mbabazi named Tom Masiko and Simon Namwanja in the starting team for the first time this season and they never disappointed as they produced superb performances.
Duncan Sseninde also got his first appearance of the second round of the season after he came on for Masiko later in the second half.
Wakiso Giants’ next encounter will be in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League on Wednesday when they visit BUL FC at Fufa Technical Centre, Njeru.
