KCCA FC head coach Mike Mutebi has said their ultimate target is to collect maximum points when they take on 13th placed Kyetume FC in game day 19 of the second round of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League at The Mighty Arena in Jinja.
KCCA FC were 5-2 winners in the reverse fixture at StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo in November.
The fixture saw teenager Sam Ssenyonjo introduced into the senior team and found the back of the net on his maiden game for the club. However, he is yet to play a league game in the second round due to licensing issues.
“We want to win. The league is hitting the business end and we cannot afford to carelessly drop any points now,” Mutebi said before adding.
“We have a broader squad now. With Anaku, Poloto now in, we have options. Sadam is back and we have to see if we can field him now or later.”
“The Captain Lukwago recovered from illness and he will start against Kyetume FC.”
“Kizza is also back and he will also start against Kyetume. The young man Aliro had a good debut against CATDA and he also gives us options at right back. He has to push for the spot with Obenchan and Musa,” added Mutebi.
“We had a difficult game against Kyetume in the first round and we know what kind of threat they pose. The players know the magnitude of the task at hand,” he said.
Sadam Ibrahim Juma has returned to full training with the first team. It remains to be seen whether Mike Mutebi can hand him a start after spending 6 months out due to injury.
Hassan Jurua is ruled out due to a knee injury; Jackson Nunda is undergoing rehabilitation while Keziron Kizito, Eric Ssenjobe, and Simon Serunkuma are the other players ruled out.
