Uganda Cranes head coach Jonathan McKinstry on Monday confirmed that three players will not feature in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament due to nasty injuries.

The three ruled out players include KCCA duo John Revita and Mike Mutyaba alongside Wakiso Giants’, Vianne Sekajugo.

Both Revita and Sekajugo have not taken part in any training session since their call up while Mike Mutyaba’s fitness has been worrying since last Saturday.

“We know we didn’t have the full picture when they arrived in camp and so for the likes of Vianney Ssekajugo, he’s not going to be able to make it for CHAN,” McKinstry noted.

Mutyaba also failed to come back in time into contention as his exclusion was made on the advice of the medical team.

“At the Moment, it Is Unfortunate that we are ruling Mutyaba Mike out of the CHAN tournament on the advice of the medical team,” McKinstry explains.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Charles Lukwago is expected to be available for the championship after starting simple ball work this week.

The KCCA first choice custodian had a joint dislocation in his arm during KCCA’s 1-1 draw with Express earlier in the league.

Viper’s duo, Halid Lwaliwa and Karim Watambala, is currently under a special training session and tentative medical attendance.

Police’s Henry Katongole has been included in the squad as back up if Lwaliwa fails to recover in time.
