FUFA Big League side Bukedea Town Council Football Club has confirmed Peter Onen as their new head coach until the climax of the season.

Onen jets in as a replacement for Anthony Ssekitto who was relieved of his duties last Friday following a string of poor results for the club.

He will work with Lazarous Ariong who has been an interim manager, as his immediate assistant while Abu Kigenyi becomes the goalkeepers’ Coach.

The 45-year-old CAF ‘A’ licensed gaffer joins the club with a vast experience having handled a number of clubs at different levels.

Onen coached Laibi College, Gulu United, BUL FC and the Uganda Hippos (U17 national football team) that he guided to a maiden triumph in the U17 African Cup of Nations Championship in Tanzania last year.

Onen parted ways with BUL FC following their ejection by Mvara Boys FC from the Uganda Cup on the round of 64 stage.

He has been tasked to secure top flight promotion for Bukedea Town Council, a task that will earn him huge bonuses and permanent contract once accomplished.

Bukedea Town Council is 4th on the Elgon Group table standings having 14 points from 11 matches played, only 7 points behind the table leaders Myda FC.

Onen will quickly swing into action with his first session at the Emokori playground as he prepares his squad for their next Thursday’s away trip Saviours Football Club.

With 5 games remaining to the end of the season, Onen is certainly focused on the promotion mission.
