Cranes Custodian Salim Jamal Donates COVID Relief Food to Pallisa District

Uganda Cranes goalkeeper Salim Jamal Omar Magoola stands out as the first Ugandan footballer to extend food Relief distribution to the affected families during this Coronavirus pandemic.

The Cranes number two goalkeeper after Dennis Onyango Masinde extended relief to his home district Pallisa to support the affected individuals.

The development was confirmed on Tuesday evening via a post one of the Pallisa district official social media platforms.

“Our very own Omar Jamal Salim who happens to be a second goalkeeper on the Uganda Cranes team donated 28 bags of posho. Some of the food will be distributed to the Pallisa hospital, Police and some selected vulnerable people,” the post reads in part.

Salim Jamal who plays his trade at Al Hilal in Sudan has been supportive of his home district in the past, having started a car washing bay in Katooke Zone and a football academy.

Delving into his professional career, Salim Jamal inspired Express FC to Uganda Premier League glory in 2011/12 and twice with KCCA FC in 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons.

He joined El-Merrikh in 2014 from the Kasassiro Boys before crossing to rivals Al-Hilal.

Salim Jamal is the third sports personality to extend support to the vulnerable homes amid this pandemic after Uganda Boxing Federation president, Moses Muhangi and SOM Chess Academy through Coach Robert Katende.
