Fifa Rankings: Uganda Stalls, Botswana Rise, Rwanda ‘Collapse’

Even though Uganda has not moved a place in the latest released Coca Cola Fifa rankings, Cranes will head into this weekend’s Afcon 2017 qualifier as favorites since their to be opponents Botswana lie 15 spaces down the same log.

Uganda was ranked 72 in the global lineup and sixteenth in the continent and have not been shaken a place up nor down even though have earned nine points from April’s tally of 491 up to 500.

The Botswana Zebras have accumulated a dozen points to perch on 87th place.

In the Cecafa region, Uganda are the traditional chiefs with the rest lying below the top 100 line.

Madagascar moves up 29 places to recording the biggest move by ranks while Rwanda did not only drop the most points (69) but were the worst movers down 16 places.

Algeria, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Senegal and Egypt occupy the top five spots in Africa while Argentina and Belgium held to their first and second spots.

Northern Ireland secured 25th position this month, their best-ever performance since the official world ranking’s introduction in 1993. The next rankings will be released on Thursday 14 July.
