KCCA Football Club striker Erisa Sekisambu has opened up on some of the most interesting career decisions, he has made in his footballing journey.

Sekisambu has exclusively told ChimpReports that his move to Uganda Premier League side, Vipers Sports Club in July 2015 remains the worst decision he has ever made.

The Ugandan international joined the Venoms as a free agent from record winners Sports Club Villa after displaying a scintillating performance on his National team debut during CHAN qualifiers.

The center forward admitted that there were some little moments he enjoyed but the cons outweight the few pros thus the 3 year spell at St Mary’s Stadium remains a regretable mistake.

According to Sekisambu, moneybags Simba SC approached him prior to his move to Vipers but opted for the Kitende side.

“Snubbing Simba Sports Club’s deal to join Vipers Sports Club is my worst decision I ever made,” he said.

He further narrates how he squandered with a life changing career move and then bowed to close friends’ advise.

“It was after a qualifier game between Uganda Cranes against Tanzania and we won 3-0 in a game where I scored a brace. Simba SC scouts came looking for me and I had to come back to consult my advisers,” he narrated.

“When I came back, Vipers also tabled a relatively good deal but my advisers told me that I wasn’t ready enough to play proffesional football then I decided to go for Vipers deal however much Simba was giving me much more money,” he added.

During his three-year spell at the Venoms, Sekisambu was the second joint topscorer in the league with 17 goals and joint topscorer in the Uganda Cup with Seven goals.

In the same campaign, the former Express and SC Villa striker was named the Uganda Cup Most Valuable Player (MVP).

In his second season, he had eight league goals and inspired Vipers SC to their third Uganda Premier League title in the 2017-2018 season having scored eight goals.

He goes on to describe life at Vipers as a mixture of happiness and misery and this is why.

“I enjoyed some moments while at the club because I won the league with the club in my last season and also became the Uganda Cup Most Valuable Player. However, life was too bitter especially in the second season when we didnt win anything. We got alot of criticism from the fans, the entire technical team and from the Executive,” he revealed.

In November 2018, Sekisambu joined Kenyan Premier League reigning champions Gor Mahia as a free agent on a two-year deal but agreed to terminate his contract with the K’Ogalos with just months into his contract.

The center forward left Kenyan giants citing lack of enough playing time before he agreed terms with UPL title holders KCCA FC last year on a one-year employment contract.

“I can’t judge myself at KCCA because atleast I have got some good playing time and I feel I’m enjoying playing at the Kasassiro Boys than Gor Mahia where I never got enough time and opportunities to play,” Sekisambu said.
