Uganda Crested Cranes star and versatile winger Fauziah Najjemba has opened the lid on idolizing Uganda Christian University Lady Cardinals striker Hasifa Nassuna.
The Kampala Queens winger confessed via the official FUFA website that UCU Lady Cardinals goal poacher is her role model on the local scene though has much love for American Alex Morgan.
“Locally Hasifa Nassuna is my role model, back at Mukono High School I admired Rukia Namubiru and when she left, I took on her jersey number 13. Internationally, World cup winner Alex Morgan of USA. She also inspired me to keep donning jersey number 13,” Najjemba disclosed.
The intelligent dribbler who joined Kampala Queens from Isra Soccer Academy is also optimistic about helping the national side progress to the FIFA U17 Women World Cup in India.
“We have a very good chance despite this being our first time. It is only a matter of when we shall play the two matches. As a team, we are ready to clear the Cameroon hurdle and make history,” Najjembe stressed.
The pacy forward Fauzia Najjemba scored in both legs of the previous round of World Cup qualifiers against Tanzania as Uganda eliminated her neighbors 6-2 on aggregate to storm into the final qualification round.
The final tournament was originally scheduled to be held from November 2nd-21st this year but was postponed to 17th February next year due to the ongoing health uncertainty.
