After 12 fairways, St. Kizito Primary School, Bugolobi emerged winners of the girl’s edition in the 3rd Nakawa Schools Woodball Championship held over the weekend at Bishop Cipriano Kihangire S.S. Naggita Hajjara and Jackline Namuyiga led the pack scoring 68 and 71 strokes respectively.
Shirat Namakula of Motherwell Junior School, Mutungo came third in the girls’ singles guiding her team to the second place.
St. Kizito made a total of 303 same as Motherwell school but went top on technicalities.
Murchison Bay Primary School sealed the third spot which is the last for qualification to the Qualification for the 7th ICPAU Juniors Woodball Championship that will be held at King’s College Buddo in June.
In the boy’s primary schools category, Edward Gususwa from Motherwell Junior was the best performer after hitting 66 strokes. Murchison Bay’s quartet of Emmy Sserunkuma (69), Simon Mutagejja (70), Felix Male (71) and Benjamin Owachigiu (79) were the best team.
Kyambogo college school scooped both the boys’ and girls’ competition in the secondary schools section.
The next qualification event will be at the 3rd Mukono schools Woodball Championship on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Mpoma School.
The other qualifiers that will come later on include Entebbe and Kampala Schools Woodball Championship and 7th Ndejje Open Woodball Championship.
Just like for Nakawa, the best 3 teams in each category will represent Mukono at the 7th ICPAU
Juniors Woodball Championship.
