2016 Masaza Cup champions Buddu Ssaza has confirmed the signing full back Alex “Kirimuttu” Nsubuga from Ssese Ssaza team.
The towering left back reunites with former coach Steven Bogere on a one-year contract having previously worked together at Bugerere.
The naturally gifted player who featured for Masaka City in the first round of the Buganda Regional league is expected to fill the void left by Atendere Geriga who joined Uganda Premier League side Wakiso Giants FC last season.
Kirimuttu becomes the Buddu’s 11th signing after defenders Edward Satro (Bulemeezi), Warren Bule and, Angello Kiiza.
Buddu also acquired midfielders in the 2019 Most Valuable Player Ronald Sekiganda, Miisi Ssemugera, Alex Mawanda and Sharif Ssengendo.
The striking line has also been boosted arrivals of Farouk Ssenkayi, Gibril Nsimbe, and Emmanuel Mwesigwa.
Buddu’s only championship came in 2016 when they outclassed record winners Gomba in the finals played at Namboole.
The Coronavirus pandemic is the only factor that has muted the long awaited kick off date of this year’s edition.
Bulemeezi are the defending champions after defeating Busiro 1-0 during last year’s final to clinch the crown.
