Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club defender John Revita on Monday successfully underwent an Anterior Cruciate Ligament knee surgery conducted at CORSU Hospital, along Entebbe Road.

The development was confirmed via the club’s official social media platform.

“John Revita has undergone a successful knee surgery and he is doing fine. Quick Recovery John Revita,” read the statement.

Revita suffered an Anterior Cruciate Ligament fracture midway through the 2019/2020 season during KCCA’s 3-1 away defeat to URA FC in February this year.

The pony-tailed center back who joined the Kasassiro Boys from Express was pivotal in KCCA’s 2018/2019 league success.

Before the premature ending of football activities in the country, Revita only missed only six matches in the top flight league; Police (twice), Maroons, Vipers, Express and Proline.

The defender also missed KCCA’s last two Stanbic Uganda Cup matches against Dove Football Club and Bukedea Town Council.

Before the season threatening injury, Revita had helped the Cranes clinch the 2019 CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup in December last year.

Revita is expected to spend 6-9 months on the sidelines.
