The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has declared 17th October, 2020 as a tentative date set for the start of the 2020/2021 Uganda Premier League season.
This was revealed by the FUFA Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in charge of football Decolas Kiiza during the consultative meeting with clubs held at the FUFA house in Mengo on Wednesday afternoon.
“If the Coronavirus situation improves and sport is allowed to operate, the tentative kick-off for the league is 17th October, 2020. The period between 22nd June to 10th September 2020 will be used for the club licensing process and needs assessment for each of the clubs,” noted Kizza.
Kizza however, did not hint on the dates for the second tier FUFA Big League promotional playoffs.
Of the 14 club officials that were expected to turn up for the UPL consultative meeting, only Nine turned up while the other five boycotted.
The meeting was chaired by the FUFA President, Eng Moses Hashim Magogo who doubles as a CAF Executive Committee member.
The Club officials present included Aggrey Ashaba (KCCA FC), Amin Bbosa (Busoga United), Agatha B.
