Acrobatic shot-stopper Daisy Nakaziro and midfielder Leticia Nabbosa have extended their stay at FUFA Women Super League side Lady Doves Women Football Club for another year.
This comes after the duo had run out of contract with the Masindi based side and the latest development will see both stay at the club until June 2021.
The Club head of communications, Godfrey Nsigirwe exclusively confirmed the development to ChimpReports on Saturday evening.
Goalkeeper Nakaziro joined from Muteesa 1 Royal University while Nabbosa came from Indian side Gokuram Women Football Club, both joining in 2018.
“We have unfinished business at Lady Doves and my role is to motivate my teammates to work hard this coming season so that the club attains a new record in Ugandan football,” said the soft-spoken skipper Nakaziro.
The club is embarking on screening and restructuring process with the first phase having 11 players renew their contracts that included Sarah Nakuya, Gladys Nakitto, Juliet Neguwon, Adrine Birungi, Christine Madam, Lydia Nyandera, Eseza Kobusobozi, Esther Namaganda and Gertrude Karungi.
Lady Doves FC played eight league games last season, winning four, losing three and drawing once under former coach John Ongodia who was relieved of his duties earlier this month.
The team is currently under caretaker coach Fred Musiime who is working with Rajab Buyinza, his assistant as the search for another tactician is underway.
