Normally when a football season ends around the globe, clubs are always keen to keep their best while others who harbour bigger ambitions, rush to snap the best league performers.
However, the above script is completely the opposite for Uganda premier league side, URA FC.
On Wednesday the club announced willingness to sell off their most lethal goal poacher Robert Ssentongo together with eight other senior players.
“URA FC Executive Committee has decided to release nine players, three of whom will not have their contracts renewed while six others have been put on sale,” the club release partly read.
Ssentongo etched his name in the history books as the fourth player to bag the golden boot in three different seasons.
“Robert Sentongo (striker), Samuel Senkoomi (defender), Yayo Kato Lutimba (midfielder), Frank Kalanda (forward) Savio Kabugo (defender) and Derrick Tekkwo (Midfielders) will be put on sale since they are still contracted with URA FC.”
The tax collectors will not renew the contracts of both their first and second keepers Brian Bwete and Sulait Luyima same fate befalls Cranes prodigal midfielder Saidi Kyeyune.
Feni Ali, Jimmy Kulaba and Oscar Agaba have been given an option of renewing their contracts while Someone Masaba has been promoted to the technical bench.
